Visibility Gets You Noticed, Consistency Builds Your Business
The biggest lesson from our HerScension Masterclass wasn't about getting noticed, it was about building something that lasts.
Hi Friends,
For a long time, I thought visibility was the goal.
If people liked my posts, shared my content, or told me they loved what I was building, I assumed I was making progress. Every notification felt like proof that I was moving in the right direction.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting your work to be seen. Visibility matters. It’s often the first step toward building trust and creating opportunities.
But over the years, I’ve learned that visibility alone doesn’t build a business.
That realization came back to me during last Saturday’s HerScension Masterclass.
As I listened to our speakers and watched founders engage so openly with one another, I found myself reflecting on what success really looks like. We spend so much time chasing numbers that are easy to measure, likes, followers, views, shares, yet the things that actually sustain a business are often the ones no algorithm can count.
One statement from Averri stayed with me long after the session ended.
“Likes don’t pay invoices.”
It was a reminder that attention is valuable, but only when it leads somewhere meaningful. Social media can introduce people to your business, but it shouldn’t be the foundation your business depends on. Platforms change, algorithms shift, and trends come and go. The businesses that continue to grow are the ones that invest in relationships, build communities, and create spaces where they can connect directly with the people they serve.
That idea connected beautifully with what Kaiya shared about reputation.
Whether we’re intentional about it or not, our reputation is being built every single day. Every interaction, every promise we keep, every email we send, every client experience, and every piece of content contributes to how people perceive our brand. Long before someone decides to buy from us, they’re deciding whether they trust us.
Amanda then challenged us to think beyond simply building behind the scenes. She encouraged us to step onto the main stage, not for attention’s sake, but because the people we’re called to serve can’t benefit from work they’ve never seen. Visibility isn’t about becoming famous. It’s about making sure your message reaches the people who genuinely need it.
Although each speaker approached the conversation from a different angle, they all pointed us toward the same truth.
Build something valuable.
Build a reputation people can trust.
Then have the courage to let people know it exists.
As meaningful as those lessons were, one of my favorite parts of the afternoon wasn’t actually on the agenda.
It was watching the conversations unfold. Moments like that remind me why HerScension exists.
Yes, we want women to leave with practical strategies and expert insights. But more than that, we want them to leave feeling connected. Entrepreneurship can often feel isolating, and sometimes what moves you forward isn’t just another business framework. It’s meeting someone who reminds you that you’re not building alone.
If a two-hour virtual Masterclass created conversations like these, I can’t help but imagine what’s possible when we gather in person this November in Atlanta.
I’m looking forward to deeper conversations, new friendships, honest discussions, and the kind of learning that continues long after the event ends. Most of all, I’m looking forward to being in a room filled with women who are choosing to build businesses with purpose and intention.
If you’ve been thinking about joining the conference, I’d love to invite you to be part of that experience. I truly believe you’ll leave with fresh perspective, meaningful relationships, and the confidence to take your next step.
I hope to see you in Atlanta this November.
